Neurotoxins aka “Wrinkle Relaxers”

What are Neurotoxins?
Neurotoxins help relax the muscles that cause wrinkles to form. They are FDA-approved injectable neuromodulators (muscle relaxants) that block the transmission of nerve impulses to the injected muscle. This safe and effective treatment limits the muscle activity to help maintain a youthful appearance.

What to expect and what is the recovery?
After the consultation and treatment plan are discussed with your provider, the provider will mark your treatment areas with a white pencil and clean the areas with a small amount of alcohol. They will then use a very small needle to inject small amounts of neurotoxin into the affected areas.

There is no actual recovery, however, you may experience some minor swelling (“bee stings”) and slight redness to the treated areas for approximately an hour. We do recommend that you avoid excess sweating, heat, exercising, and alcohol on the same day as your treatment to help optimize results.

How long do they last?
Each neurotoxin offered is slightly different but as a general rule, you should see maximum results within 1-2 weeks post procedure and lasting 3-4 months depending on the patient.

What happens if I stop injections?
Due to our precision with placement, neurotoxins will gradually and naturally decrease their effectiveness on their own.
