Medical Weight Loss
Intentional • Data-Driven • Sustainable
At The Refinery, we believe weight loss should feel intentional, informed, and completely personalized to you. This isn’t about chasing a number on the scale—it’s about understanding your body, improving how you feel, and creating lasting change.
Our medical weight loss program begins with a comprehensive evaluation, including detailed lab work and an in-depth look at your body composition using our InBody scan. This allows us to go beyond weight alone—giving insight into muscle mass, body fat percentage, metabolic health, and underlying factors that may be impacting your progress.
Our approach is comprehensive and designed to support your body from every angle. Depending on your needs, your customized plan may include GLP-1 medications, targeted wellness and vitamin injections, mindset and lifestyle support, and metabolism optimization. For some patients, we take it even further—exploring hormone balance and gut health to uncover deeper imbalances.
Every step of the process is guided by experienced providers, with a focus on sustainable results, long-term health, and helping you feel your absolute best.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is a candidate for medical weight loss?
Our program is recommended for patients 18+ based on an individualized assessment including body composition, BMI, body fat percentage, and weight-related health conditions. Because every patient is different, candidacy is determined on a case-by-case basis.
GLP-1 medications have been approved by the American Academy of Pediatrics for ages 12 and up in certain cases. We evaluate younger patients individually and in collaboration with their pediatrician. If you’re unsure if you’re a candidate, we recommend scheduling a consultation.
How are GLP-1 medications administered?
GLP-1 medications are self-administered as a once-weekly subcutaneous injection. Prescriptions are shipped directly to your home or sent to your local pharmacy.
Our team will provide detailed guidance and education so you feel confident administering your injections safely and correctly.
Do I have to come into the office or is telehealth available?
We offer both in-person and telehealth options for your convenience. While many patients begin with an in-person visit for their consultation and treatment planning, you can also complete your initial visit entirely via telehealth—especially if you do not live near one of our two locations.
Once you’re established in the program and we feel confident in your progress, nutrition, and lifestyle habits, prescription refills can be managed through our online system between your in-office or telehealth appointments. This provides the flexibility to continue your care seamlessly from anywhere.
What happens when I stop weight loss medication?
Our goal is to set you up for long-term success beyond medication. Throughout your program, we closely track your progress using InBody body composition scans, allowing us to focus not just on weight loss, but on preserving and building lean muscle.
By combining this data with personalized nutrition, lifestyle support, and habit-building, we help create a strong foundation for sustainable results. Patients who maintain these habits are more likely to keep the weight off and continue feeling their best even after transitioning off medication.
Do you accept insurance or help with medication coverage?
Coverage for weight loss medications varies depending on your individual insurance plan. Our team will assist with submitting prior authorizations when applicable to help determine if your medication may be covered.
While we do our best to support this process, we cannot guarantee approval, as coverage decisions are ultimately made by your insurance provider.
