Medical-Grade Chemical Peels

Glow. Correct. Renew.

Healthy skin begins with healthy skin function.

At The Refinery, we offer two advanced ZO® Skin Health Medical-Grade Chemical Peels designed to improve the health and appearance of your skin. Whether you’re looking for an instant glow with virtually no downtime or a deeper corrective treatment for pigmentation, acne, fine lines, wrinkles, and sun damage, we’ll help you choose the peel that’s right for your skin.

As ZO® Skin Health Experts, our providers specialize in Dr. Zein Obagi’s science-based approach to skin health. Every treatment is customized to restore healthy skin function while delivering beautiful, long-lasting results.

Healthy skin isn’t achieved by covering imperfections—it’s achieved by creating healthier skin.

ZO® Stimulator Peel — The Glow Peel

The ZO® Stimulator Peel, often called the Glow Peel or Lunchtime Peel, is the perfect treatment when you’re looking for brighter, smoother skin without the downtime associated with deeper chemical peels.

Using a blend of alpha hydroxy acids, this gentle peel exfoliates dull surface skin, improves skin tone and texture, softens the appearance of fine lines, and leaves your complexion looking refreshed and radiant.

One of the reasons we love this peel is its versatility. The ZO Stimulator Peel is incorporated into most of our custom facials to enhance exfoliation and maximize your results. It can also be performed as a standalone treatment whenever your skin needs a quick refresh.

ZO® 3-Step Peel — Advanced Skin Rejuvenation

For patients looking for more dramatic skin transformation, the ZO® 3-Step Peel is one of the most advanced professional chemical peels available.

Developed by Dr. Zein Obagi, this physician-dispensed peel combines salicylic acid, trichloroacetic acid (TCA), and lactic acid before finishing with a powerful retinol crème that continues working long after your appointment. The result is healthier skin with improvements in pigmentation, acne, uneven texture, enlarged pores, sun damage, and visible signs of aging.

For patients seeking even greater skin rejuvenation, the ZO 3-Step Peel can also be combined with SkinPen® microneedling to maximize collagen production and improve overall skin quality.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which peel is right for me?

The ZO Stimulator Peel is ideal for patients wanting an immediate glow with little to no downtime.

The ZO 3-Step Peel is recommended for patients wanting more corrective treatment for pigmentation, acne, sun damage, melasma, fine lines, wrinkles, and overall skin rejuvenation.

Is there any preparation before my peel?

The ZO Stimulator Peel requires no special preparation.

For the ZO 3-Step Peel, we prefer patients to already be using and tolerating a prescription-strength retinol or tretinoin. If you’re not currently using one, we’ll discuss the best preparation plan during your consultation.

Will I peel afterward?

The ZO Stimulator Peel produces little to no visible peeling.

The ZO 3-Step Peel typically begins peeling 2-3 days after treatment. Peeling may last up to 7 days, although most patients are finished by day 5.

Does the 3-Step Peel hurt?

The ZO 3-Step Peel is more intensive than the Stimulator Peel, and many patients describe it as feeling warm or “spicy” during treatment.

For additional comfort, we offer Pro-Nox™, a patient-controlled nitrous oxide and oxygen system that helps make your treatment more comfortable while allowing you to remain awake and in control.

How often should I receive a peel?

The ZO Stimulator Peel can be performed every 3-4 weeks and is incorporated into most of our custom facials.

The ZO 3-Step Peel is commonly performed 1-2 times each year to address sun damage, pigmentation, acne, and other signs of aging. Your provider may recommend additional treatments depending on your skin goals.

Can peels be combined with other treatments?

Absolutely. Both peels complement many of our aesthetic treatments.

For advanced skin rejuvenation, the ZO 3-Step Peel can be combined with SkinPen® microneedling. We’ll recommend the best treatment plan during your consultation.
